WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) released the fifth video in its documentary series, “Identity Crisis.”

The latest mini documentary tells the story of Daisy Strongin, who, after a double mastectomy at age 20 and three years of testosterone, decided to detransition to fulfill her dream of becoming a mother. Daisy now says she was using “transitioning” as a Band-Aid of sorts — a way to get rid of deeper insecurities she had about her self-image.

“If you told me two years ago that in 2022 you would be married and pregnant, I wouldn’t believe you,” Daisy said. “My parents told me that I would change a lot, but I just could not conceptualize it.”

IWF’s “Identity Crisis” series tells the stories of four mothers whose daughters fell victim to gender ideology, two detransitioners who now warn of the harms of socially and medically transitioning, and one mental health professional who rails against her profession for prioritizing political correctness over public health.

Kelsey Bolar, senior policy analyst at IWF and executive producer of the series, said, “Daisy thought she was ‘transgender’ from a young age and that having kids wasn’t important to her, so she removed her breasts and nearly sterilized herself. But as many children and teenagers do, she changed her mind,” Bolar said. “Unfortunately, leftist policies that promote gender ideology give children and teenagers no space to explore their identities or change their minds. Instead, they put children and teenagers on a direct path to medical harm. It’s not compassionate; it’s cruel.”
