Poverty in America remains stubbornly high despite decades of effort and trillions of dollars spent on poverty-alleviation programs.
Breaking cycles of generational poverty or helping those who have fallen on tough times to recover and rise will take more than tax dollars. It will take effective private solutions and reforms to our public social safety net that place work at the center of all efforts.
