In March the National Collegiate Athletic Association will welcome a new president: Charlie Baker. Let’s hope Mr. Baker, a former Massachusetts governor who played basketball for Harvard University, will usher in some much-needed change. Someone must lead the NCAA in taking accountability and action to protect women from men permeating our sports and spaces.

I am a college athlete, and at last year’s NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships I had to compete against a biological male from the University of Pennsylvania who swam the previous three years on the men’s team. Along with competing against a male, my teammates and I had to share a locker room where we were exposed to male genitalia. We did not consent to this arrangement.
