APRIL 19 | AUSTIN, TEXAS

Austin, TX Independent Women’s Forum (IWF), the nation’s leading national women’s organization, and its grassroots arm Independent Women’s Network (IWN) will host a film screening of “Identity Crisis” in Austin, Texas on April 19 in partnership with Leander Area Republican Women and Partners for Ethical Care (PEC). This marks the second screening for IWF’s documentary series to show the public what’s happening inside school systems, doctors’ offices, and beyond.

“Identity Crisis” features mothers whose daughters fell victim to gender ideology, detransitioners who warn of the harms of socially and medically transitioning, and a mental health professional who rails against her profession for prioritizing political correctness over public health.

As a one-sided echo chamber pushes an “affirmation-only” model — which promotes ‘preferred’ names and pronouns, puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, and medically invasive surgeries that leave children with irreversible damage to their developing bodies — a growing share of the public feels silenced.

“Identity Crisis” seeks to change that by offering perspectives from individuals who’ve experienced the harms of the gender ideology movement first-hand.

Kelsey Bolar, executive producer of the series, said, “Despite some lawmakers finally stepping up to protect children from the irreversible damage this movement is causing, much of the public remains in the dark about the harms of so-called ‘gender affirming care.’ Without the brave voices of these detransitioners such as Prisha Mosley and Chloe Cole – and a media willing to share them – nothing will change. Taking our Identity Crisis series on the road and allowing Americans to hear from the subjects we’ve featured is an important step in righting the wrongs that continue to happen inside schools and gender clinics to this day.”

Special guest speakers from the series will be on the ground in Austin for a post-screening discussion, including Prisha Mosley, a mentally ill teen betrayed by health professionals who recommended testosterone and ‘top surgery’; Chloe Cole, a young teen who pursued puberty blockers, hormones, and surgery to remove her breasts which failed to address underlying struggles with anxiety, depression, and undiagnosed autism; and Jeannette Cooper, a Chicago mother who loses custody of her daughter for insisting that her daughter is a girl.

“People who are imprisoned have more communication with their child than I do. That’s wrong,” explains Cooper of her situation.

Prisha Mosley, a prominent detransitioner, recounts the devastation that gender ideology inflicted on her younger self, “The trans community tells you to kill your old self. It’s your dead name. I literally feel like I killed a child, and it was me.”

“No 15-year-old girl should have to go through that,” says Chloe Cole.
