WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) announced Prisha Mosley, a 25-year-old woman and detransitioner who first shared her story through IWF’s documentary series, “Identity Crisis,” will join IWF as an ambassador. Mosley began socially transitioning to be perceived as a boy at 15 years old; at 17, she began taking testosterone, and at 18 years old, she underwent elective surgery to remove both of her breasts. Shortly thereafter, Mosley came to regret these decisions, which she says were the result of healthcare providers failing to treat her underlying conditions. Last July, Mosley filed a lawsuit in North Carolina against her providers alleging medical malpractice and “unfair and deceptive trade practices,” which caused years of psychological and physical pain.

As an IWF Ambassador, Mosley will continue to speak out against the movement that perverts biological truth and leaves children with irreversible damage to their otherwise healthy bodies.

“I am excited to be partnering with Independent Women’s Forum,” said Prisha Mosley. “It’s important and encouraging to me to be able to share my voice and have it amplified and reach more people. IWF is a good organization full of a variety of women, none the same, but each alike in a desire to defend goodness.”

Mosley wasn’t concerned about potential effects on her body or even her ability to have a normal sex life when a doctor began prescribing her testosterone at 17 years old. Now back to living as a woman, Mosley first shared her story with IWF as she began questioning how a team of healthcare professionals allowed a teenage girl with a history of trauma and well-documented mental illnesses to mutilate her body at such a young age. As an IWF Ambassador Mosley will continue sharing her story and advocating for the protection of young women and girls while pressuring the medical community to re-evaluate its standards for “gender-affirming care” as an ambassador for IWF.

Kelsey Bolar, director of storytelling at Independent Women’s Forum who first told Mosley’s story, said: “Anyone who cares about the well-being of children can’t turn away from the devastating experiences of detransitioners. Independent Women’s Forum is honored to continue helping Prisha Mosley tell her story so the public understands the lifelong consequences of so-called ‘gender affirming care.’ Mosley is one of the bravest, most inspiring young women that I’ve met, and I know that through her work with IWF, she will continue changing hearts and minds so that no child has to experience the injustices that she’s faced ever again.”

As more individuals come to experience the harms of the gender ideology movement first-hand, the stories of detransitioners, parents, and experts are impossible to ignore. To protect children from the harms of gender ideology, and to stand up for biological truth, Independent Women’s Forum is committed to giving them a voice.
