WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) Ambassador and detransitioner Prisha Mosley gave a powerful speech outside of the U.S. Supreme Court on the painful consequences of her medical “transition” during oral arguments in the historic United States v. Skrmetti case. In the case, the Court will consider whether a Tennessee law that protects children from life-altering, wrong-sex drugs and surgical procedures intended to alter the sex characteristics of minors is constitutional. Independent Women’s Law Center (IWLC) submitted an amicus brief in support of Tennessee lawfully acting to protect its children from aggressive experimental interventions.
Prisha, who at seventeen years old started testosterone injections and eventually underwent a double mastectomy, first shared her story in “Identity Crisis,” an exclusive documentary series produced by IW Features, the grassroots storytelling and original journalism arm of IWF. More recently, IW Features broke Prisha’s unexpected pregnancy story when she found herself the subject of yet another medical experiment.
“The issues raised at the U.S. Supreme Court this week in United States v. Skrmetti regarding whether or not states have the right to protect children from dangerous, experimental ‘gender transition’ procedures are pretty academic. They can be held at arm’s length [and] looked at from a comfortable distance. Most people don’t know what is taking place at most hospitals in America or what they’re paying for in taxes when Medicaid covers ‘gender-affirming care’ for your children,” Prisha said outside of the U.S. Supreme Court. “But it’s different for me, and for thousands of other people who have been defrauded by negligent doctors and harmful policies.”
Prisha continued, “I was part of this experiment. These procedures [that] lawyers will be debating involve doctor-prescribed, counselor-encouraged drugs and surgeries that have been described as harmful, unnecessary, and high-risk by research and rigorously reviewed studies and as ‘life-saving care’ by activists – activists who do not want you to hear about the harm that came to my body, that is coming to the bodies of your children.”
May Mailman, director of Independent Women’s Law Center, said, “The Court is going to rule for Tennessee, for several reasons. For one, courts have no business sitting as medical regulators over how states can regulate shifting medical evidence. For another, regulating a medical procedure is not the same as discriminating on the basis of sex. And finally, the Court is not interested in inventing another protected group, like race or sex, that is as broad and diverse as trans-identifying individuals. The Biden Administration and the ACLU exposed the weakness of their own argument by resting on lies, like saying only 1% of kids have regrets after ‘transition’ or that puberty blockers are consequenceless ‘pause’ buttons. Six Justices did not buy into these dangerous falsehoods.”
