WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Independent Women applauds President Donald J. Trump for taking decisive action to undo climate policies that undermined the American energy industry and prioritized unreliable sources.

“Today, Independent Women’s Center for Energy and Conservation applauds President Donald J. Trump’s decisive actions to undo his predecessor’s radical net-zero policies that undermined American energy independence without adding any benefit to the environment,” CEC Director Gabriella (Gabby) Hoffman said. “Across the last four years, government mandates and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) posturing resulted in record-high inflation and higher energy, gas, and food costs. The Trump-Vance administration has a great opportunity to put forth policies that prioritize energy security and cease relying on foreign nations for fuel, electricity generation, and critical minerals by adopting abundance as its guiding principle—more energy from more sources, not picking energy winners and losers.”

“The measures announced by President Trump will give Americans more choices on what household appliances and cars they can own, prioritize reliable energy, stop harmful subsidized offshore wind projects, supercharge nuclear power, and reduce red tape while promoting outdoor access and true conservation practices,” Gabby added.

The CEC’s mission is to reshape the conversation about American energy and conservation, to educate the public about the benefits of modern energy, including thriving economies and healthy communities, and to level-set fear-based rhetoric surrounding the climate and cultivate meaningful policies that lead to cleaner air, cleaner water, and a lower-emissions future. Importantly, the center connects the role our modern energy industry has played in successful environmental outcomes and a better, more prosperous way of life.
