Patrice Onwuka, director of Independent Women’s Center for Economic Opportunity, will provide expert testimony before the House Oversight Committee, Subcommittee on Health Care and Financial Services. In a hearing titled “Examining the Growth of the Welfare State,” Onwuka will discuss how our social safety net is currently keeping individuals and families in poverty instead of providing a way out of it, and will share solutions to this growing challenge of less-than-optimal welfare programs in America.
