The U.S. Must Maintain Its Lead in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Innovation Race

  • President Donald Trump released an executive order on January 23, 2025, calling for the creation of AI systems without ideological bias and engineered social agendas.
  • Like the U.S., China is also developing innovative AI technology at a considerable rate, and Chinese AI firm DeepSeek recently produced a chatbot that boasts unparalleled affordability.
  • Sound technology policies will allow the United States to sustain and enhance America’s global AI dominance to promote human flourishing, economic competitiveness, and national security.

AI Is Already Used In the Economy

  • Traditional AI, utilized by Alexa and Google’s search algorithm, conducts specific tasks intelligently without creating anything new.
  • Generative AI can creatively produce deepfake videos as well as new music and images.
  • Within ten years, AI has the potential to boost the standard of living for many people and increase gross domestic product (GDP) globally by 7%.
  • Pursuing excellence and efficiency, freelancers are discovering effective means of integrating AI into their work to perform tasks like coding, marketing, and analyzing documents.

The Trump Administration Is Freeing Up AI

  • President Trump has reversed some of the Biden administration’s efforts from 2023 to restrict AI development by revoking Executive Order 14110 (“Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence”).
  • Investing up to $500 billion in a joint venture among three major private sector U.S. firms, the Trump administration launched Stargate, a collaborative AI infrastructure supported by SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, Sam Altman of OpenAI, and Larry Ellison of Oracle.
