WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Independent Women issued the following statement condemning the fatal terror attack in Colorado against eight people at a rally for Israeli hostages:
Meaghan Mobbs, director of Independent Women’s Center for American Safety and Security, said:
“The brutal and targeted attack in Boulder, Colorado, where eight innocent Americans, including an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor, were burned by a terrorist wielding a makeshift flamethrower, was not only a horrific act of violence but an unmistakable act of terrorism and antisemitic hate. This was a deliberate assault on American citizens for no other reason than their Jewish identity and their public support for the safe return of Israeli hostages. That is an intolerable stain on our nation.
“The rise in antisemitism across the United States is no longer a marginal issue. It is manifesting in real-world violence – in our streets, in our schools, and now in broad daylight on a pedestrian mall in Boulder. The ideology that fueled this attack is the same hateful extremism we have seen metastasizing under the guise of political expression. And it must be confronted.
“Law enforcement, policymakers, and civic leaders must treat this for what it is: a national security issue. We stand in unwavering solidarity with the victims and the Jewish community. This cannot be normalized, and cannot be ignored.”
Ellie Cohanim, Senior Fellow at Independent Women’s Center for American Safety and Security, said:
“This latest heinous terror attack targeting American Jews must be a wake-up call for all Americans. I call upon all Americans to stand with your Jewish neighbors and friends. We must end the so-called ‘Free Palestine’ movement in our country which is just a cover for a pro-terror movement.”
