WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Independent Women Features (IW Features), the grassroots storytelling and original journalism arm of Independent Women, is sharing the story of California parents whose children were subjected to an inappropriate presentation by an advocate for sadistic sexual practices promoting gender ideology at Sage Creek High School in Carlsbad, California.
Amy Reichert, contributor for IW Features, spoke with the parents whose children were subjected to the inappropriate presentation during school hours while parents were barred from attending.
In an interview with IW Features, Scott Davison, the parent of a student at Sage Creek High School said:
“They can’t have it both ways. Ally Week is advertised to the entire student body and held in the cafeteria at lunch so any student can attend, which means parents have a right to attend, too. Only when parents asked to attend did the principal suddenly claim the event was a meeting only for members of the GSA club, with the clear intent of preventing parents from finding out what this speaker would be talking about.”
Davison described how school officials shut down efforts by parents to push back on the event, citing the 1984 Equal Access Act as a loophole to advance their radical agenda and keep parents in the dark.
Andrea Mew, managing editor of IW Features, said: “As a product of the California public school system myself, it sickens me to my core to see such flagrant indoctrination being green-lit by school administrators. What happened in Carlsbad goes far beyond the sex education my generation of Californians received. We’re truly living in a clown world if parents are expected to turn a blind eye to self-proclaimed BDSM experts teaching minors how to ‘transition’ genders behind their parents’ backs as acceptable speakers.”
Scott Davison, Executive Director, Carlsbad Education Alliance, and father featured in the article, said: “Parents asked for information on the speaker. Parents asked to be notified. Parents asked to opt their students out. Instead, we were shut out at every turn. The district made clear: outside organizations pushing controversial medical viewpoints are welcome—even during school hours. The only ones not welcome? The parents paying the taxes and raising the kids.”
Amy Reichert, contributor for IW Features said: “This is happening in schools up and down the state. Administrators are using obscure legal loopholes to let activists speak to children about life-altering medical procedures, while denying parents the right to even be in the room. Parents have every right to know who is speaking to their children and what they’re saying. This isn’t isolated. It’s institutional.”
“Identity Crisis: Real Stories About Escaping Gender Ideology” features stories from detransitioners, experts, and parents fighting to protect children and teens from the irreversible harms of gender ideology in schools and the medical industry. Identity Crisis documentaries bring to light the graphic stories of young adults now reckoning with the physical and emotional scars of gender ideology.
