LAS CRUCES, NM – Today, Independent Women’s national grassroots membership arm announces a new chapter launch in Las Cruces, New Mexico—”New Mexico Voices”. The chapter will focus on exposing the harms of radical gender ideology and the destructive policies adopted and pushed in Las Cruces public schools. Las Cruces schools are among several New Mexico school districts that have implemented policies that exploit children’s most vulnerable years and potentially lead them down a path of lifelong emotional and physical hardship. This chapter joins 34 Independent Women affiliated chapters around the country and an online community of more than 60,000 members.

Independent Women Features (IW Features), the grassroots storytelling and original journalism arm of Independent Women, recently featured the stories of a New Mexico mother fighting radical gender ideology in her daughters’ school and a New Mexico father who reconnected with his estranged daughter only to lose his relationship with her again after she transitioned. Both blasted state policies that promote radical gender ideology.

Through storytelling and campaigns aiming to restore common-sense policies in New Mexico, the Las Cruces chapter will support efforts to restore parents’ and women’s rights in Las Cruces and across the state.

The New Mexico Voices Las Cruces chapter launch was held at La Posta de Mesilla restaurant. Attendees shared their opposition to the radical gender ideology that allows men into single-sex spaces meant for women and girls and encourages children to identify as anything other than their biological sex.

Erica Ramirez, leader of the New Mexico Voices Las Cruces chapter, said: “I believe women informed with the truth will become concerned and in return activate to make a difference. As a New Mexico Voices chapter leader I believe we can achieve change in a kindhearted and selfless way.”

Jordanne Kemper, Vice President at Independent Women’s Voice, said: “New Mexico’s policies—both statewide and in eight school districts— enable the mutilation of minors,  harm children, and destroy families. These policies were intended to be a compassionate way to deal with children’s imaginations and insecurities but have proven to be disastrous, dangerous, and the source of lifelong emotional and physical harm. They are rejected by over 80% of New Mexicans and they must be repealed. Achieving real change will take New Mexicans speaking out and demanding change. That’s why we are thrilled to see so many parents and residents ready to stand up with the launch of the New Mexico Voices, Las Cruces chapter.”

Christy Narsi, national chapter director for Independent Women’s grassroots arm, said: “When the New Mexico legislature killed legislation that 84% of New Mexicans were for, their message was loud and clear: they care more about ideology than the will of the people who elected them. A similar message is being reinforced by school boards across the state who demand educators work behind parents’ backs, intentionally putting harmful material in front of minors and encouraging children to identify as any sex they want. The people of New Mexico have been ignored and silenced for far too long. New Mexico legislators should take note:  we are firing back. New Mexico Voices is here and we will not stand by and let you harm our children in the name of a radical political ideology.”
