Americans routinely cite healthcare costs among their highest concerns. These costs affect employers, patients, and families. The uncertainty of our confusing multi-payer system can be hard to navigate, and too often, patients face unexpected and unaffordable bills. While we often talk about “accessibility,” ultimately access is tied to cost and payment. Americans should all have access to high-quality health care. Reaching this goal requires reforms that address the hurdle of cost.
