The majority of workers in the U.S. have access to some form of paid time off from work following the birth or adoption of a child and use it. Still, many families don’t have the time or resources they need to welcome a new family member. Policies should make it easier for workers to help themselves by providing them with freedom and choice and by respecting the myriad different ways modern workers choose to direct their own lives.
