Socialism in any form comes at great costs, not just in terms of dollars, but also in terms of freedom. While the socialist movement promises fairness, compassion, and equality for all, the reality is that socialism delivers less opportunity and prosperity for everyone. This is not to say that capitalism is perfect. Capitalism can be corrupted into cronyism. However, an opportunity economy (where individuals have power) is the opposite of both cronyism (where big business has the power) and socialism (where big government has the power) and leads to better outcomes for all.
