Title IX is a simple non-discrimination statute that prohibits recipients of federal funds from discriminating on the basis of sex. Although Congress passed Title IX to guarantee equal access to education, over the course of several decades, bureaucrats at the Department of Education have unconstitutionally twisted the law beyond recognition. They’ve intrepreted it to allow federal authorities to micromanage local educational policies and jettisoned due process in cases of alleged sexual harassment or assault on campus. IWF supports equal educational opportunity for all students and supports the right of all students, faculty, and staff to administrative due process.
