What a nightmare! I have two teens, 14 and 17 and the elder has ADHD and a couple of other diagnoses which make it difficult for her to keep up with the now VERY complex system our District set up for assignments and Google meets. I am a single Mom, and have a high stress sales job that requires me to work until 6pm, so I don’t have the bandwidth to keep help her keep track of assignments. Our District also can’t get their updates done timely and teachers often don’t grade assignments timely either, so we get these emails about missing things that she has already turned in. Honestly, we were in private school with both girls until my divorce during the 2008 recession and that’s the only reason they are doing ok in school….they had a big head start. Our District has these college-like schedules where the kids don’t go to the same classes everyday, and I am beside myself because with the issues my daughter has, she needs to have math instruction EVERY DAY…..all of the complexity they have added is all of the bureaucracy making jobs for themselves at the expense of our children. GOVT SCHOOL IS A JOKE. I would home school if I had the ability and patience, but my children need input from others and social interactions I can’t give them. I don’t look forward to the upcoming Democrat “reign”…
