A South Carolina native, Courtney Montgomery taught history in Hawaii for five years after attending college in Florida. An internship at a Washington, D.C. based educational nonprofit led to a staff role as a legislative assistant. As a representative for an association of private, K-12 Christian schools, she wrote a weekly newsletter for their constituency, met with Members and Hill staffers about legislative issues, coordinated national conferences for state leaders and politically interested students and spoke at teacher’s conferences around the country. She primarily monitored issues such as Common Core, school choice and religious liberty.
In 2014, she married Chris, a police officer, and moved back to South Carolina. Her love for politics and social media led to the start of The Cerebral Conservative Facebook group, blog and Instagram. She currently works in public relations at a university.
Courtney enjoys documenting her food and travel experiences with her husband on her blog, Yeah That Courtney, consuming copious amounts of news, taking photos of everything in sight and spending time with her family.
