Kaitlin Owens serves as the Advocacy Manager at Independent Women’s Forum, where she assists with efforts that elevate women’s voices and champion policy solutions in the states.

Before joining IWF, Kaitlin worked in policy and advocacy roles at the America First Policy Institute and the American Conservative Union Foundation, where she developed and advanced key criminal justice efforts. She helped craft and pass “Dignity for Incarcerated Women,” a model policy adopted by more than 30 states. Portions of this language were later incorporated into the First Step Act, a landmark federal reform that Kaitlin helped advance as part of a broad, bipartisan coalition – ultimately signed into law by President Trump.

In her free time, Kaitlin enjoys hiking, discussing any and all true crime related events, cheering on her favorite teams the Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Eagles, and of course loving on her fur babies: McNamara and Raegan.
