Katie is a member of the policy team at Independent Women where she serves as a policy research assistant. She helps across the team by researching and writing on each of Independent Women’s key policy issues.
A native of North Georgia, she brings extensive political experience spanning local, state, and federal levels. She earned both her undergraduate degree and Master of Public Administration from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, GA.
Her career in public affairs began during high school and has encompassed campaign management, political consulting, and work with center-right policy organizations. Her professional background includes fieldwork in the United States House of Representatives and communications work at a Washington, DC-based think tank.
Katie resides in Gainesville, Georgia with her husband Matthew and their two border collies where she enjoys sewing, gardening, cooking, and filling in on the fiddle in local bands every now and then.
