I competed at the championship level in swimming as a Junior in high school. I was geared up to do well the following year. The Girls’ Swim Team was cut my Senior year so I had to compete on the Boys’ Team. I didn’t place in any race for any swim meet. Thanks to Title IX funding, Women’s Crew was available at UCLA. I walked onto the team and competed at NCAA championships. I am a founder and CEO of a software company and, like many female executives, attribute some of my success in the competitive business world to my competitive sports experience.
