I am blessed with four children, successful in every way. They are the way they are because I had the opportunity to develop educational plans that fit each of them. All four have a learning challenge—from ADD to dyslexia to auditory processing and more. Because I had the freedom to homeschool, then to start a school as well as identify private schools—both boarding and day schools and access to a good public high school—the children grew and learned. Each child was different. To have been forced to only use a public school especially for early and elementary education would have killed their desire to learn and their confidence, not to mention diminished their overall mental development. Every child is different, and every parent needs the opportunity to decide what is best for their child. This is America.
