“I started freelancing in DC in 1994. We moved back to Texas in 1996 and I continued my business in Texas even though the bulk of my work is in the DC area. I like the fact I can pick and choose my clients and my timeframe to work. I was able to spend quality time with my mother when she moved in with us in 2018. Even though she passed away in 2020, those years will be treasured. If I had been forced to work a full-time job, I wouldn’t have been able to provide the care and love to my mother. ”
