I have been a consultant/contractor since I graduated college in 1993. Of the years I have been working, I was employed with a full time job for about 3-4 years. It was the full time job I lost during the tech bust, thank God for contracting and consulting–it kept me fed.

When I had my child, I did not want to go back to work full time. I had the ability to set my own schedule. I was able to stay home with my child until she started school. Once she was in school, I scheduled work around the important events I wants to attend.

Contracting/consulting allowed me the luxury to work at night, on the weekends, or during the day on my time and my schedule, as long as the work was completed on time. It is ridiculous to think that in a free society, government wants to take that away. No thanks…
