Myth.

Teachers unions seek to improve education quality and outcomes.

Teachers unions describe themselves as champions of high-quality public education. When they strike, unions insist they are closing schools “for the students.”

Fact.

Unions prioritize political power and financial gains.

Teachers unions use members’ dues to elect politicians. Unions use collective bargaining agreements and the threats of strikes to advance a radical ideological agenda and trap students in failing schools.
